TISD Adopts New Teacher Pay Scale

The Tulia ISD Board of Trustees and Administration are very excited to extend contracts for teachers and adopt a new teacher pay scale as recommended by the Superintendent. This recommendation was the result of a wage study conducted by the Texas Association of School Boards to compare our salary scales to other districts across the state and throughout the Panhandle. From this study, the district adjusted the teacher pay scale for the 2019-2020 school year to help us to remain very competitive in our market. At the beginning of the pay scale, there is a larger increase to improve competitiveness in years 1-14 however, all teachers will see a local increase of at least $1,400.

I want to thank the Board of Trustees for their courageous leadership as they have worked with the administration to improve teacher salaries, expand teacher support, adopt new goals and provide resources to help accomplish the goals.

Finally, I want to thank our teachers and administrators for their service to the students of Tulia ISD.  Your passion and dedication does not go unnoticed and because of your work, kids in Tulia are winning!  Thank you.

Tim Glover
