Tulia UIL Advances to Regional Meet

The Tulia High School Academic UIL Teams competed at the District 2-3A Academic UIL Meet at Dimmitt on April 8th. The students did an outstanding job! Tulia took 14 regional qualifier spots and had 20 students place. The top 3 individuals and the top team qualify for the regional meet in each event. Computer Science Team Takes Second Place!

The Tulia High School Computer Science Team won second place at the Randall High School Invitational. These students have worked hard to learn something new. THS Social Studies Team Dominates Again

The Tulia High School Social Studies Team competed in the second of three meets in the Best of Texas Virtual Meet Series. There were 12 teams and 57 individual that competed in this meet. Our team won second place with 155 points, falling only to Ingram Tom Moore by 5 points. They beat the only team in our district and all four teams in our region that competed! The team consists of Glen Fikes, Bryce Shelton, Saul Torres, and Alondra Villa. Individual Awards in class 3A include: Click for results.

Generation TX Day

Tulia High School celebrated Generation Texas Day on Friday, May 1. This is a picture of our first generation college bound students! We are proud of their effort to seek education beyond high school. These students took brochures containing information on the steps necessary to attend a college, university, or technical school to all students in the high school. Generation Texas students ROCK!

The Learning Classroom helping with Snack Pack for Kids

The Learning Classroom of Swinburn with teacher Dawn Shelton shared with the school board about how they help with Snack Pack for Kids. These students help by packing the bags and counting the correct number of bags for which they are responsible. This gives them the opportunity to work on their job skills, communication skills, and social skills. Thanks to Mr. Lara, the school board, and the Snack Pack for Kids program for letting them have this opportunity. (Click headline for more pictures)

Music and Movement at Swinburn

Swinburn Elementary students participated in a Music and Movement Program last Thursday night May 15, 2014. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders all performed in the HS Gym last Thursday night. Each grade level presented movements to musical selections by "The Beatles." The students did a wonderful job and were excited to perform for the large number of parents, families, and teachers who attended. Swinburn's TOP Readers!

Swinburn Elementary students were recognized at the April Board meeting for being the top reader in their grade level. Evan Eastwood 3rd grade, Chambre Clawson 4th grade, Alexis Barid 5th grade were the top AR Readers at the time of the board meeting. These students have worked hard and read many books to earn hundreds of AR points.

Tennis STATE Results!!!

Congratulations to Carlos Subealdea(sophomore) who placed 2nd at the state tennis tournament. He ended his season with a 26-3 record.

Madison(junior) and Jaxton Hoelting(freshman) placed 3rd at the state tennis tournament. They ended their season with a 26-1 record.
